Rattle can job on your guns?

Bored ordered a primary arms 1-4x, grip and quadrail for one of my guns, thinking about rattle canning it. Any one done it or have much experience? What's the best to use? Thinking of going with a tan with a little brown here and there..

Get it cerakoted, and you can rattle can it any time you want, any color you want. When you're bored, wipe the old stuff off with acetone, and do it again.

I've spray painted a few. The paint scratches easily, but has held up rather well for the most part. Fun to fuck around with. Also should mention your harsher cleaners will eat that shit right off, so be aware of that.

If you don't prep or thoroughly clean the gun before you put your color down, it will wipe off....If that is the look you want

I like guns to look used, it shows character, and functionability. Is that weird? The more worn(within reason) the better for me. Guns are tools.

I painted my AK with krylon's camo paint that is good for metal and plastic. Sprayed it down first with brake cleaner. Scratches easily but that gives it a bit of character, plus it is fairly easy to strip and repaint a different pattern if you wanted. Do it.

Rattle can with some straw on my son's .22. Cheap and easy to change if needed or wanted.

I have a buddy that uses Rustoleum enamel paint on his guns and then bakes it on. Says it works great , not sure how much of a beating he gives his guns though.

Brownells Alumahyde 2 is some good stuff. Used it on a Remington 870 that had been beat to hell in police cars for 10 years. Looks brand new. Took it apart, break cleaned everything, heated it, cleaned again.

The key to the Alumahyde is to apply it per the instructions. Very easy to do and took me about 5-10 minutes once everything was clean and dry.

Rattle can seems to work just fine for the SEALS. Just throwing that out there.

Love rattle can jobs. Because it's really easy to change it up if you get bored. One of my rifles I did a few years back. Holding up pretty good.
