  • Chiappa Rhino

I've got a itch for a revolver and started poking around at Chiappa Rhinos. Anyone on here have one or any experience with one?

I just started looking, but I did find a 50DS for $729 - elsewhere they seem to be $850 plus. Is this a good price?

    Thanks in advance.

That is basically wholesale. They're pretty soft-shooting. I say go for it.

EDIT: Full disclosure. I'm an enabler.

I love them. Never shot one but love the way the look and feel in my hand.

Supposedly because it fires from the bottom cylinder, the recoil is much better than top firing revolvers.

I've been wanting one, but I really hate revolvers.

That's a function of a low bore angle, and there's no supposition necessary. Perceived recoil is less than a comparable gun with a barrel at the top of the cylinder.

It turns out, the one I was looking at was used. Apparently they were tired of looking at it and let it go for $650. It's got a few nicks, but mechanically it feels tight. I like the feel of it in my hand.

Looks tough as hell. Grip is a little odd, but the whole thing is.
                  Looks down to business.

I've always been curious about those. Not so sure about having the sights so much higher than the bore, but I guess it's not much different than a handgun with a scope on top.

They have to be in line. How would you see the sights if they were below the top of the cylinder? While we're at it, is parallax really going to be a factor at pistol distances?

It's way better off than the sight height on the AR15. You want to talk about having your sight way above the bore axis.... mount an optic on an A2 variant AR or M16.
