I would like to see some actual numbers to back it up but yea, the media would be screaming about it if open carry states were having problems.

I've always gone with the rule that "you can't fix stupid and you can't stop crazy, you can only mitigate the damage."

IMO, a 'smart' criminal will be looking for that exposed weapon. When he sees it, he'll move on because he is looking for targets with the least amount of effort or risk.

I agree with you. To further Texas will be the largest states to introduce open carry at the same time it will one of the last southern states to due so. Leaving only South Carolina and Florida as the only southern states without Open Carry
