What did you have in mind? Thanks for the suggestion Chili, I probably should have asked at Elm Fork the last time I was there but it was crazy packed (Saturday afternoon) so that may not be the best option. I don't know, maybe Alpine is the same way as it's been years since I've been there. CJ, where did you have in mind?
It's at JCSSA, in alvarado, I-35S and 67 is about where it is.

Don't go to alpine, that 1 shotgun lane that they have sucks and if you are anywhere near 6' tall you have to squat a tad so you dont hit the overhead barriers. I have a small spot out here in midlothian, it aint nice but its clear and safe to shoot whatever you want. My coworkers showed it to me and from looking at all the shell casings on the ground there are at least a few people that shoot there semi regularly although I have yet to run into anyone else while there besides my co-worker. Someone piled up a decent sized birm at one point as a backstop and there is always a "new" old TV or boat or something out there to shoot at.

I was out at Alpine for the first time this week to shoot sporting clays. It looked like they were doing some overhauling of one of the pistol/rifle ranges. They were cutting concrete and doing various other things. The sporting clays courses were nice and I spoke with a guy who has done tons of clays shooting and he said they are turning Alpine around and making it a better place.
