Beats me. I was there about 15 years ago and it shocked the hell out of me. I correspond with a man that is a competitive shooter in the French Air Force and he laughed at me when I told him that suppressors are heavily regulated over here. He was shocked because that is the ONLY thing firearm related that he doesn't have to do paperwork on. Many places in europe require suppressors in order to fire, they are mandatory. On the east coast of the US back in a long time ago, suppressors were required if I'm not mistaken.
