  • Glock 20C....talk me out of this....

So, I stumbled across a Glock 20C at a small store in Bellville while driving around for work. Not that I am looking to jump into a new caliber but I have been picking up the factory comp'd Glocks when I find them just to add to the safe.

Are these still reliable in the mighty 10mm and fun to shoot every now and then or are they mostly novelty and a waste of time?

Price is about what they are going for on Gunbroker but I think I could haggle it down to $625.

I talked myself out of the impulse buy, but I am seriously thinking about going back and snagging it to add to the other C models I already have.

    Thanks.

I have no issues with the compact, non-compensated version.

I read on an ad that Glock has stopped making C models which may add some value to them later....assuming the barrels don't split open!

Found another one in OKC and will be near that area tomorrow. hmm.... do I REALLY need to venture and store another caliber just to experience the mighty 10mm round?

10mm round is a must have. I say buy it if you like the c models. You could always throw a regular barrel in if you want to avoid the flash and noise

Unless you are an Oklahoma resident, you cannot buy a pistol there.

I was wondering about that. I knew louisiana was that way, didnt know if it was on a state by state basis or not.

You can buy it just not leave with it. Ship it to your FFL.

If you want 10mm, I say do it. I'll be entering the 10mm world soon once I stumble across a G29.

G20 is a great gun. One of the strongest 10mm pistols and its one of the cheapest. Best bang for the buck overall. Best quality for the buck would be a delta.

As for the C model, I wouldn't do that, 10mm needs barrel length badly, the ports take nearly 1.5 inches off its effective length, that's a hell of a lot of power. 10mm has substantial underburn even in 5" barrels. I fired a G20C a few months ago and I didn't really notice much of a difference myself. If they made a long slide with a compensator that would make sense.

Edit: also, what's the point of reducing muzzle flip if you can't see to take a second shot?

My dad wanted a G19C long slide for a while when he was competitively plate shooting. I always thought the long slide versions looked wicked and, in a 10mm I think it would be a big help for reasons attributed to the round.

                      Edit: what CJ pointed out.

Wait... did CJ just seriously say that a Glock is a great gun?!?!?!?

Mods, can we get an IP check in here to make sure CJ's account wasn't hacked?

For the record, I think they are as good or better than any other plastic gun out there. I've owned many glocks and will own more.

Don't get me wrong though, glocks still suck with their shitty grip angle and unbalanced feel.
