I saw a Spartan as bass pro about a year ago for $670, and no I'm not kidding.

I'd also like to say that was a stupid ass naming choice for those two pistols."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

And yes, I agree the names are asinine.

honestly i didn't know anything about it then, probably the same issue as what CJ expressed above. spartan, trojan, roman, gladiator... i dont know what is what.
i knew adam liked STI so i asked him. he said that was around what they went for. to his credit, i'm fairly certain last time i went they were still ~$1049 so i can still go buy one.
i am 1911 shopping. i sold my tortoise pt1911, while it was performed perfectly, i never got to grips with owning a taurus product.
i want something good with 3 dot (non-target) sights; night sights for bonus points. i have my eye on a springfield armory TRP but wont spend more than ~1200 for one.
sig 1911s seem like the new kimber to me. they make a bunch of the same gun in 42 flavors.
sti is the wild card.
les baer, dan wesson and the likes seem very nice but i don't need a ridiculously tight high precision machine. i just feel like that is going to complicate things with ammo selection and shit.www.hppmotorsports.com
