DPMS Oracle LR308???

Found a Brand New Unfired DPMS Oracle LR308 from a private seller for $900

Decent enough deal?

I had planned to build another AR after I built my first but that was two years ago... I don't have much free time and I'd rather be shooting or hunting than building.

Probably Just add optics and thats it until I have time again to tinker.

And what optics should I look at?
-Pig and Varmit Hunting.
-Maybe shoot at targets every once in a while. I think our max range at the ranch until we clear some more brush is about 150 yards right now.
- Might Deer hunt with it but I have a couple bolt guns for that.

Oracle is pretty basic. I have the Recon for a few hundred more. Stainless barrel and comes with a $100 AAC suppressor adaptor/flash hider already installed.

Ended up with it and for cheaper than I thought..... It was new in the box and unfired.

I figured out the the MOE Handguard and Stock I have from my previous build will fit so I will slap those on.

So Now I need optics.

Picked up the Bushnell red dot I linked on here. Found the last one from a camera company in NY that had them on closeout so I got it for cheap. If I don't like it I won't have too much $$$ tied up in it.

I'm busy for the next few weeks but I should be able to get down to the ranch July 4th to put a few rounds through it and get the red dot dialed in.

Should be a decent plinking/ pig gun without too much investment.

I'll take some pictures when I get the optics and furniture on.

I heard good things about the bushnell micro dot, I am not familiar with their 2x red dot, but they all seem to be pretty decent for the money. I like unmagnified optics myself, but that LR308 will have some reach, so magnification isn't necessarily a bad thing.

yeah I'd vote for a magnified optic too since your running 308.

I'd go for a 4x or a 6x fixed or adjustable up from there.

If you absolutely want to keep the less than 100 yards stuff going, I'd suggest one of these 1-4x or 1-6x the 3 gun guys use.

-Bushnell is supposed to deliver tomorrow so I can somewhat update there after I get it in my hands.

- As far as the gun goes, as I stated earlier I probably won't get a chance to shoot it until 4th of july weekend.

Take this with a grain of salt since I am in no way a gunsmith nor do I even remotely resemble a gun expert... The fit and finish seems great, and everything moves smoothly as it should. Having never fired or even held a super high end AR i can't compare it to anything fancy (My .223 I built was a PSA upper and a lower from a local guy. Forget what brand now.). I know the actual test will be firing it but for now I'm very happy with the purchase.

Bushnell Came in and Looks Good.. It's bright and I like the 2x.. I will update next weekend hopefully and how well everything works together.
