Yeah, the MKIII lite is the best .22 pistol there is in my opinion. The buckmark would be a close second, but it lacks much of the aftermarket, same with the 10/22 vs. marlin 60.

You buy the gun, then order a VQ sear and MKII hammer bushing, this removes the stupid mag disconnect, and the sear reduces the pull to around 3lbs. You now have a easy match grade pistol. I just got back from shooting and I was hitting clays on the other side of a pound roughly 50 yards away without any difficulty at all, every time. They are great guns.

I have a Mark II Target that I like, but I still like my old vintage .22 pistols better. I have a Colt Woodsman Match Target, High Standard Supermatic Citation 106, and a Browning Medalist that make me smile ear to ear when I shoot them.

I have a smith model 41 Olympic match, arguably one of the most accurate pistols made, and the mkIII lite is right there. Really a great gun.

I just don't care for the trigger on my MKII, maybe I need to get a trigger job on it. Is the MKIII trigger any better right out of the box?

I couldn't really say to be honest, because I always do a trigger job the moment I get one.

I'll make your day. Click this link:

And order that sear. Install it in your MKII and you will never ook back, best $40 or so you will ever spend.

MSRP is $450 on Ruger MKIII lite's if I'm not mistaken. I ended up paying that for mine, but they were just released and you couldn't find them anywhere. Now that the scare has died down, I bet you could find one for around $350 or so. I'm not the best to ask.
