My 11.5" voodoo barrel and AA piston conversion kit came in. I wanted to get the gas block under the rail as far as I could. So I bought a 11" Samson Evolution rail and went to work.

Start. I cut the top rail off a few inches back. Block will not slide inside the rail.

Drill, steel tube and sandpaper did the trick after 2 batteries and a couple dozen trial and error fitment attempts.

And she fits with room to spare.

        With a simple YHM brake.

As soon as I put some rounds through it, I am going to give her a coat of paint.

I added a CMC Trigger single stage 3.5lb curved firing group. Then hit it with the base coat fora camouflage job.

Next project is this little guy.

I have a rifle length gas piston kit, LaRue SPR scope mount, Leupold Mk IV 6.5-10x40 and a CMC 2stage trigger here to go in it.

But on order are the Rainier Ultramach 18" 223 wylde, and a Centurion 12" rail system.

I must admit, that came out looking great.

My next build is going to be my M16A1 M203. Finally something new, I've never messed with that handguard style before.

Thanks. The suppressor needs a hair more clearance though. I have a hand router to build out my 80% lower. I think I can make a simple jig to hold the rail and give me a guide for my end mill bit to ride on. Just needs a hair all around. Everything else worked out great.

                  When is the Scarface photoshoot?

                    • If I build another AR its going to be a PSA 308. Otherwise, I'm all set on ARs.... now I might get another Garand or M1A though. I also have a few more handguns I'd like.

Nothing wrong with starting with a factory prebuilt or one like you mentioned. that is how most get started. I still have my first S&W AR even though it has gone through a lot of changes over the years.

Yep, that's what I did with my first one. Bought a complete lower, complete upper and pushed 2 pins in the parking to have a rifle.
                              .

                              • Finally completed one of lowers from the Spikes GB earlier this year, waiting on the 16" Seekins 556 from DSG Black Friday special to get here and should be in business.

Question I want to build out the 2nd Spikes lower as SBR- do I have register any different or am I good to go from the original FFL transfer?
