    wanting to get a 1911 slide tri-topped

    So I know there are numerous smiths all over the US that could do a fantastic job at a great price, but I'm wanting to see if there's anyone local first that you guys would recommend as I like to keep local guys in business and avoid shipping.

    Direct personal experience with stuff like this is preferred in the responses. Years ago I used Mike Caylor up in Anna but I'm not sure he's still around as his website is gone, and he takes forever...

      Why? It's just simple milling. Mainly for cosmetics and weight loss.

        This guy is one of the best 1911 smiths there is. A co-worker of mine has gotten several built from him and the are fantastic guns. He does pretty much any custom work you can think of.
