My friend has an American Tactical Imports, he loves it. The slide is easier and the trigger pull it better/more crisp than on my springfield ultra.

Yes, I would say Springfield makes one of the best 1911's for the money at the moment.

My uncle, who owns several Ed Browns and Colts, was impressed enough to go out and pick one up just to have. We shot the shit out of it a few weekends ago. Ran through a little over 400 rounds. All reloads. Some really hot, some just target loads. Ate everything thrown at it. Only time it will hiccup is if you try to walk the slide forward on HP's or wadcutters instead of racking it or using the slide release. Was using it running the "El Presidente" all day long. Not one stoppage.
