        They make decent shotguns.

BTW, Didn't they have this recall a few years ago for the same thing?

Seeing as the 870 isn't affected by the recall I don't see how that is applicable. Remington monks top notch shotguns for the money. I would go so far as to say the best entry level shotgun made.

Glad I didn't "pull the trigger" on one and chose to buy a Tikka.

X mark pro sucks as it is. I would put a Timney, Jewell or Shilen in long before sending it back to Remington.

Unfortunately I bought a Remington 700 CDL in .300 Win Mag a couple of months ago and it is part of the recall. I think I'll go with the Shilen standard stainless for $155. I've used Shilen before and Doug is good people.

I like their triggers but have heard some questionable things about their barrels after the old man passed away.

Yeah the barrels dropped in quality if I'm not mistaken, read a pretty in depth analysis of it a few years ago. If I'm mistaken it was mostly visual, but I don't recall any tests with accuracy. Not sure how they are looking now. That's why I usually steer people into a savage, among other things.

I was referring to Shilen barrels. I've yet to encounter a 700 that didn't shoot good. Their fit and finish is horrible on lower end stuff these last few years by far.

I just found out about this, didn't think my 700P had the xmark but it says my serial # is effected. I thought all the xmark pros had the allen head adjustment near/on the trigger? Mine doesn't....

Not sure I want to deal with sending it back... May just go aftermarket trigger but IDK.
