big props to marlin customer service

Picked up another model 60 real cheap because it wasnt auto loading. I broke it down and am pretty sure its the recoil spring. Every place i checked online was out of stock. I called marlin, and since it was such a cheap part they are sending it for free. I asked the lady, "are you sure?" She said "absolutly, we got to get that gun working again." Just seemed cool to me.

That's excellent customer service. How do you like it? I've been keeping an eye on cheap(er) rifles for sale but don't know anything about the marlins.

Model 60 are typically awesome. I have one that runs great but after 800 or rounds it needs a good cleaning or it will occasionally ftf.

I love the model 60. I have had mine since 85. It was my first gun. Not a single problem after uncounted thousands of rounds. The one i am getting the parts for is for my 13 year old daughter. The only drawback to the 60 is the limited amount of aftermarket stuff available. That being said, it is reliable and accurate as hell.

I dont own a 60 but I have quite a bit of trigger time on one and a 795, and they are both great. When I shot the 60 it needed a serious cleaning and still shot like a champ. If you dont mind the tube/mag you'll be golden. I've seen them as cheap as 80-100 bucks on the trading groups

I don't believe I've ever had an issue with either of mine.
