Got the gas block and attempted to replace, without success this far.

I removed the flash hider, removed handguards and removed the 3 hex head screws that hold the factory gas block to barrell. I'm unable to remove the gas tube from the block...thought I would seek more advice before I mess up the tube...should it just slide right out?? Suggestions, tips, tricks, advice??

    Thanks,

    Brent

Did you remove the role pain holding the gas tube into the gas block? Want to punch out that little pin holding the gas tube to the gas block it will come easy.

The block is secured with 3 hex screws. There is a hole on the block, but it doesn't appear that there is a pin inside of it??

Would post photo, but unsure how to do so from phone.

Got the new block on and should receive the new handguard/rail tomorrow.

Thanks again for the help and the laugh!

yeah some blocks are pinned in. Glad you got it out. Roll pins are easy. Taper pins however can be the devil.

Do you have barrel nut wrench? If not you'll have to cut it off. The collar is aluminum and thicker than it looks, but you can crack it with some large dikes, then you just pull the c clip and the spring off. Sometimes I use a cutoff wheel, a dremel would work also. Best way to do this is grab the c clip and pull it back so it releases tension on the spring, slide those away and then cut the collar off.

                            Where do you live exactly?
