Change out the bolt buffer and put on an extended mag release.

Any other must have mods for a stock 10/22?
Turn the left picture into the right picture. You can do endless things with the 10/22.

Awesome thanks man. I'm not trying to get to crazy with this one. Just want a good acurate .22, not trying to go all "AR" with it. ALthough I wouldn't mind getting a threaded barrel/supressor in the future.

So havent fired the rifle yet but reading the manual, am I correct in understanding that the bolt does not lock back when you fire the last round in the magazine?

Nope, no bolt hold back. Off the top of my head I don't know of any mainstream rimfire only gun that does. My .22 AR does it, but with an expensive block/adapter.

The model 60 locks halfway back. I'm pretty sure my Springfield 87a does but it is pretty old and not common these days.

The Marlin 795 does. But yeah I'm definitely a rimfire noob, not sure I am a big fan of that.

It does? I don't remember either of mine doing that, but that's about how long it's been since I used them.

The one I have does it's roughly 10 year's old so I could be a added on thing after a certain year. It has a release just above the trigger. It's just a little piece of stamped steel sticking down.

I'm not personally a huge fan of the tactical 10/22s but that one is pretty clean lookin!
