    The United States has more guns than people

    I don't know if this is old news to everyone, but I do not remember the ratio rising over 1:1.

    The estimated total number of guns (both licit and illicit) held by civilians in the United States is 270,000,0001 to 310,000,0002. The estimated rate of private gun ownership (both licit and illicit) in the United States is 101.052 firearms per 100 people.

                      I guess I did read that stat incorrectly. Though I think my est. is much closer when you account for random boating accidents over the last few years.
