I've only seen .22LR on the shelf one time in the past year. Went to bass pro one night before they closed. They had just stocked it full. I've been wanting to possibly purchase a CZ American 455 or 452 left-hand but haven't because I'll never get to shoot it. I have managed 8 boxes of .22mag I've run into at wal-marts time to time. I'll start that at .75 a round .

I guess I'm wrong in feeling I should be able to go to my local Walmart and pick up a few boxes of it whenever I feel like shooting. But I am going to start paying attention now and picking it up online whenever I can.

I would but that whole thing about shipping ammo gets in the way, lol. Actually that's where I found my last 2 boxes at the cabelas in Allen.

I'll buy that from you for 10% over your cost. (then sell if for 50% more!)

I never thought that it would be difficult to get 22 ammo, got three boxes of 100ct. cci mini mag just before Christmas and look every time I go to Wal Mart and when the wife and I went Saturday morning and they had one 525 ct. box of Federal HP's it felt like winning the lottery. I think there is a group of old retired farts going every day here in Stephenville and buying all they have.

Cabela's will send it to the store for free too so you can avoid the shipping. I'm only a few miles from the one in Allen so I order a brick whenever I see it available online.

There's one asshole that snakes everything the Walmart has, and sells it at the flea market on 377.

This reminds me of back on 2008-2009 when there was no ammo in dfw. I brought back like $3000 worth of ammo from Laredo and sold it at the demand price. Paid my school for a semester with that and then some

I don't remember .22LR being this big of a problem back in '08-09.

It seems difficult to believe that random people are so successfully keeping 22 off the shelves of so many stores. I was hoping I would be able to pick up a value pack at Wal mart by the time my personal stash runs low. That is looking less and less likely, and still no one really knows why? That's nuts.

Where is the member that worked at Academy. How about hooking us up with the dates and times these shipments hit the shelf.

This is starting to get abnormal. However, after a big gun scare, ammo dries up, people go to the store for the first time in their life and can't buy ammo at all. This scares them, and you get a 1-2 year span of those people stock piling based on their recent experience. This one is lasting longer than any I can remember. .22LR is different in that it can't be reloaded, it's the cheapest ammo there is, and it's the most popular caliber. Those two combined causes a much higher demand than any other.
