Saiga conversion

    Check out youtube. There are some great conversion videos. It really is pretty simple, and I am not a gunsmith by any means. Here is a pic of my 7.62x39. I am waiting on the matching pistol grip.

      That looks great. Did you have it threaded for the brake?

        No. I cut off the saiga FSB and pressed on a bulgy 74 FSB.

        And by "pressed on", I mean I wacked it with a mallet until it was on all the way. The brake is a Bulgy 74, and I drilled it out to .400 so it would easily pass the 30 cal bullet.

        Lining up the FSB so it was straight and not canted was not too difficult either. Just took patience and about 20 minutes.

          What is keeping your front sight from getting knocked off when you drop it or hit it?

          Some of the Saigas (the early ones) are actually threaded 14x1 under the sight.
