  • Gun wood repair

I picked up this Iver Johnson Matted Rib last night for $60 bucks but I need to repair the handgaurd. The wood is ripped out where the screws would go to hold in the latch plate. Any ideas? and I am also missing the screws for the latch plate.

I picked up some JB wood weld. I am going to give it a try at filling the holes then drilling pilot holes in it. I will post the results.

Fixed the gun. The hand guard snaps on and off perfectly.

latch plate installed with #8-3/4 stainless counter sunk screw.

The screws held tightly in the JB also. So I have no worries about them pulling out.
