Only other Glock I have is a 32. Also have a Kahr CW9. I can get some comparison pics tonight when I get home.
It's definitely a lot thinner than a normal Glock and a little thinner than the Kahr single stack 9

I might grab one if I run across one in that low $400 range OTD. Current carry is a G27, and the G42 is about the same height, a little shorter and a 1/4" narrower.

Some comparisons with Kahr CW9 and G32

Frisco Gun Club has a G42 in their "test fire" inventory. It's really small and weighs almost nothing.

Gonna pick one up for the wife when the prices come down under msrp which is supposed to be 399. How tight are these? Would a small frame girl be able to rack the slide compared to something like a kahr cm9?

It uses the gen 4 dual recoil spring but I don't think it would be too hard for a woman to rack the slide. Definitely easier than a TCP or LCP.
Recoil will be a lot better too compared to the above because this is a locked breach design.

For the LE price I was really tempted. My only hang up is the caliber. I carried a .380 for a while but was just not impressed enough to trust my life with it. I am really disappointed this is not a 9mm. I want small, Sig or Glock reliability, and 9mm. I have a Sig 292RS right now and love it. Trigger is a little long but no big deal with me. You guys really like the XDS and shields?

Shot my friend's shield and loved it. I plan on buying one soon. I am glock fan, btw.

I like any gun manufacture that puts out good guns consistently. They all make mistakes every now and then, but some are way more consistent then others. Hell Sig even made the P250. While not terrible guns they definitely were not great.

Still love my xds in .45. Though I would like to try a shield in 9mm.
