Ever had something go viral? Well we sort of did with this picture and I just found out about it yesterday. Long story short, a co worker wanted to show me this piece of gun furniture he'd seen online and asked what I thought about it. I told him I liked it so much that I owned it and further explained that it was my headboard and my picture.

I contacted the Austrailian Tea Party group and they found my picture on Flickr and thought it was perfect for a meme. 24 hours, 90K shares, 15K likes, and dozens of emails with questions on price and where to buy, and we quickly put together a website for contact info for people that were interested.



Let me say this, we never thought we'd receive the amount of interest that has been shown and we're seriously rethinking our original plan.

The original headboard in picture was never designed for quick access, it was designed for storage and hiding things in plain sight. Not to say that it couldn't be built for quick access. We've made over 20 different design modifications to what you see in the picture. The headboard sitting my bedroom is even different from the picture. We've had GREAT feedback already and we're a little overwhelmed with the interest we've received. The headbaord was just the first design and I have 5 other designs for pieces of furniture that I think would sell.

I have plans to get a couple things built and taken to gun shows coming up to gauge more interest. And if things work out, we may be building on a larger scale than what we planned.

haha, not yet. There's A LOT of work to be done to see how much of this is even remotely possible.

As an additional product line, you could offer DIY "Safe Concealment" kits that give you a faux finish / front for a gun safe. Make it look like a hutch or something, that way it doesn't have to be hidden in a closet or garage, yet you don't have the eye-sore of the big black safe in your living room.
