I think that is probably one of the reasons for this thread.

Leah bought me this pack for Christmas. I have been impressed with it so far. Seems to be really well made and a lot of thought went into the numerous pockets, compartments, straps, etc. It's a good size and is obviously "expandable" due to the Molle set up:

I tend to take this topic a bit serious as I am not even the slightest bit of prepared, much less ready.

Trying to prioritize everyday struggles (debt) first and then get started on the smart path however, every time this topic comes up I am reminded of my lack of preparedness and it is a bit frustrating.

I have guns and ammo, but that won’t last long if you have to fight everyone just to get some supplies.

What should the quintessential BOB have:

Waterproof matches
Life Straw
Cooking utensils
Weapons of course
Knife/machete
…what else?

Depends on your plan, create a plan of action and then build the BOB to facilitate that plan. Have contingencies and add the needed supplies for those too.
