Ruger takedown is a great survival rifle to have. Another good choice is an AR15 for it's modularity, you can carry uppers with you.
When selecting weapons for all out survival, I personally am very concerned with reliability and parts availability. So for me the only two good choices are an AR15 or an AK. Secondly, it's ammo availability. So that's why out of all the guns to choose from, I'd pick an AK-101 (.223), preferrably an AK-102 if you had one. Great reliability, and a probably the most popular rifle round in the US. For my situation I'd have both, wife can carry one, I'd carry a short AR. The disadvantages to AK's is they need to be handled by someone with proficiency in iron sight shooting as they have pretty poor sights. Optics are difficult and cumbersome, and for night shooting they are terrible unless you install tritium sights, and even then it's pretty poor. So that's really your trade off between the two. Both are good choices, but I believe an AK should be left to more experience shooters given it's more difficult sights. Just about any novice shooter can handle an AR15 peep sight.
