I have never understood those contraptions.
"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury." -Alexander Fraser Tytler

They enhance hair growth rate on one's neck.

great guns, high prices, mags not as easy to find as glock.

DA/SA trigger takes some getting used to. The short reset triggers help A LOT with travel to reset for follow up shots.

that being said, I have shot a 239, 228 and a 220 in competition. I now shoot a G34 or my factory 19C, 22C. The trigger being the same for every shot makes a huge difference and my follow ups with the glocks are much better. Only other gun that compares for follow up shots is my RIA 9mm 1911. That things shoots so soft it's awesome!

Now, if I could snag a 226 in decent condition for $550....heck yeah!
Not once in the eight years of having 226's have I seen a FTF from a limp wrist. We had 90 pound officers that couldn't shoot for shit and never a FTF. To me the grips are perfect. Grab a Glock 21 and then get back to me on grip size. Oh and I was handling a Tacops the other day and it was pretty nice. The short reset was really nice. If the new Chief wasn't giving us Glock 40's I would have one right now. I won't turn down a quality firearm for no reason, and Glock is a quality firearm. I like them both but my experience lies with Sig's and M&P's primarily.

I don't know enough about Sig to say what's different between the P226 and P229R, but I saw this on PSA's website.

The R at the end just means, "railed." The primary difference between the P226 and P229 are that the P229 is a little smaller, but not by much. It's the milled slide gun they replaced the P228 with.

I see the rail attachment now, skimmed over the ad because I'm broke lol.

I'm seriously considering adding a Sig P227 to my stable. All of the feel and features of a 226, but in 45 ACP. I love my 1911s and XDs, and honestly Sigs are about the only other handguns I like.

I carry a 226 on duty. I've never had any problems with it. I will be going to Sig armorer school soon. I'm in AR15 armorer school this week.

I had the bug this year. Shot a p229 e/e and loved it. Couldn't decide between it or the p226 in 9mm. Then I shot my buddies Ruger SR9 and ended up picking one up for $400 NIB. I'm a cheap bastard but I'm very happy with my Ruger. I'll own a sig one day when my money tree finally produces.

They just reintroduced the P225. I'd give one a hard look.

I was looking at a 239 for sale and thought it would be a nice concealed carry gun; smallish, single stack 9mm/.357 Sig. But damn are they expensive! The 225 would be nice but minus the smallish and likely heavier. But would it be cheaper?
