  • Sig 226

Who owns/owned one? Been looking around for a 9mm and came across a Sig 226 with 4 magazines and a Comp-Tac MTAC holster for $550 local. I thought about it for to long and it wound up getting sold. Did I miss out on a good deal? Looking for a carry gun in 9mm and have never owned a Sig before so I'm wondering what I missed out on now.

I love my 226, got it from Chris AKA withe88
Was it an newer sig with the rail? that's pretty fair price.

Without my gun hobby. I would cut off my own dick and let the rats eat it...

Sigs are pretty spensive. Even used. 550 sounded like a damn good deal.

X2, he is absolutely in love with his, for whatever reason. He is to Sig what DOHCTR is to H&K.

I saw that deal, felt it was OK. I would try to spend around 500 for a 226 if I were looking.

I personally wasn't a fan of the one I had. I a sure they make great duty guns or sidearms for military, but it made a poor CCW for me. Big + heavy = no good for me to carry.

The only thing that kept me from pulling the trigger is the whole DA/SA trigger. It was a good enough price that I'm sure I could have unloaded it without losing anything but the trigger is what had me thinking. As far as size and weight, I normally carry a full size 1911 so I'm sure this wouldn't have felt much different.

And yes it was a newer one with the rail.

I own a sig and love it. 550 for a 226 with 4 mags and no issues is a pretty good deal if you ask me. Couple caveats; it's big. Not small hand friendly. It was also not designed with a left handed person in mind whatsoever. And my personal opinion due to the size, hammer and lack of safety is that it makes a poor in-waist-band concealed carry, it's big and if something catches that trigger... Well... If it's winter and you concealed carry in a hip holster with a jacket you'll be fine.

Standard issue Texas DPS guns. Probably the best tried and true gun Sig makes I would say.

I love my Sig, I used to own a 229 (Sig.357), but I sold it to Keith's brother, I believe he still has it. I regret selling that gun.
I have my Sig 250 (.40) and the SA does take a little bit to get used too, but I love it. It sits in my nightstand, every night protecting me from the Zombies and Aliens...

If you want a concealable 226, just get a 229. You only give up a couple of rounds.
