I try to mount the scope as close to the center of the bore as possible IF it allows the rifle to fit me. To test the fit I mount the rifle with my eyes closed and then open my eyes. If I am not looking perfectly into the scope without moving the rifle around I will move the scope up or down to make it fit me.
