The CZ is a great pistol. I like them, but my wife loves them. I had my wife shoot a 1911, Glock, XD, XDm, a Sig and a CZ all in the same day. We are now looking for a compact CZ to be her carry gun.

Oh one other thing. The CZ can now be had with a decocker instead of a safety like a Sig. I know some prefer one to the other, but I'm getting the wife a gun with a decocker. I'd rather have her not have to think about taking the safety off if she ever needs to use it.

Isn't also CZ producing the Dan wesson series of pistols? I plan on buying a 1911 from their production quite possibly with a Witness as well seeing how well these pistols are made.

New Dan Wesson 1911's aren't as nice as the old Dan Wesson revolvers. I'd pass on their 1911 line, personally.

I'd still put them over Kimber, Springfield and Sig, right in line with STI and Les Baer, sitting right under Wilson Combat.

I can't speak to the other 1911's in the Wesson line of pistols but I've put 600-700 rounds through my buddies V-Bob and the only hiccup it's had is when I've limp wristed it. It's been nice and smooth, crisp trigger, and stupid accurate from my experience. The checkering on the frame is a little aggresive for my taste but I wouldn't hesistate to buy one.

I got my wife a CZ75D PCR, which is the compact model with the decocker and it's a great gun. She loves it - fits her hand well and there is hardly any recoil or muzzle flip. I shot it quite a bit over the weekend and it functioned great and was pretty accurate.
