Also I've quite literally scoured the net for any evidence of a 10 mm MP5 having exploded due to excessive wear or too much shooting and I found nothing.

10mm has fallen into the same niche as .44 mag. It's too powerful for self defense, it over penetrates far too much. Because of that it's mitigated for hunting and other exhibition purposes. 10mm was overshadowed by .40 S&W since it didn't over penetrate.

I was told that by two HK gunsmiths at the silencers are legal shoot at elm fork. The problem with scouring the net is these were never rarely owned by civilians, most all were police issue. There isn't much info out there at all - I learned that when trying to build one. I personally do not know, but the fact HK admitted they had to redesign the locking piece reinforces the fact they had problems. They gained a bad reputation and HK probably couldn't save the line (that's what I understood).

I was told by two HK gunsmiths in Texas, and HK employees here that they run well and that the FBI has tons in storage (hundreds).

TPM will build one and warranty it too.

Well all of that makes sense. The FBI used low pressure rounds, so no issue with the design problem. And TPM will build it with the high pressure piece fix. So no problem there. If you shoot the original MP5/10 with the original locking piece as it was designed, you're going to get premature unlocking. That causes excessive stress on the receiver, which causes premature failure. They came out with a new locking piece for a reason, nothing you're saying contradicts the problems that were attributed to them. I did not know they issued a fix for the guns, there is so little info out there on them I never even heard about that.

Sure, but saying that 10mm will unquestionably destroy an MP5/10 is inaccurate. With a proper bolt gap and locking piece you are golden. Matt and Ken at TPM build them for customers every now and again.

Probably the same gossip phenomenon as the delta elite cracked frame myth. The original design did fail, but it has since been fixed. So we can amend the previous post which precipitated this with HK also fixing the problem that plagued every other 10mm gun on the planet. Because honestly just about every first attempt at a 10mm was a failure to my knowledge. Can you think of any that went perfectly fine right out of the box?

Imma ask the geniuses at HKPro for evidence of a damaged mp5/10. If someone turns up a photo of one that has rattled itself loose, I'll buy you a bottle of Wild Turkey.

because that's unbiased. Those fucking wallet warriors wouldn't admit any faults in any HK. Hell, half of them will tell you how smooth a G11 shoots.

Damn dude. You're risking a lot with this one. Take a step back and think for a second.

Someone may have some kind of information somewhere, because I literally can't find anything. I know of no other board to go to.

Nah man, you can take my word for it, as someone who has never shot one, and only has hearsay.
