Not at .45acp velocities, hence the attraction. It will get dirtier than your average bear, but still perfectly safe within 1,000rds. I shot about 400 rds of cast through my 1911 a few days ago and the bore was still pretty clean. Might want to wear a gas mask though.

Here is my witness as it sits. Trigger job done about 3 years ago. Not bad for free.

I would cut it into long pieces and put it on my toilet paper roll.

I have wanted to pick up a Witness for a while. I had someone offer me a 9mm Elite Match for a WASR, good deal?

That's fair. If it's a Century WASR, you should just pay him to take it.
ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

I actually asked about this. The myth of them blowing up at 5000 rounds is from using the improper low-pressure locking piece (90 degrees). Using high-pressure ammo requires a locking piece of 60 degrees for an enhanced built-in mechanical disadvantage. It is just as the 10 mm fad died with LEOs before people began to use the correct locking pieces.

That wasn't a myth, those guns shipped with those locking pieces. What HK is telling you is they had to fix their design. 10mm wasn't a fad. It over penetrated too much for police use. More 10mm is sold today than ever before.
