  • .45LC ammo

Where has the cheapest target ammo??? Cabelas had some for $36. 50 round box of course. Seems expensive to me... Luckily my Ruger Blackhawk accepts .45acp but I want some LC too. Thanks!

    Learn to reload 45 colt.

Its one of those rounds that usually ends up getting people to reload

That ammo is usually expensive and 80 percent of the time you can only find cowboy loads.

I hate cleaning lead out of my gun so I only shoot cooper jacketed bullets.

I think all we have is Blazer aluminum cased at academy. Don't remember the price but I know it's less than $36. A lot of people refuse to use the aluminum cased ammo but I've never had a problem with it.

It's just worthless to reloaders, and most .45 Colt guys are reloaders.

Agreed, but most people who come in to the store to buy ammo are not reloaders and still refuse to buy it for range ammo. Maybe the ranges they go to only allow brass cased ammo?

$36 for 50 rounds isn't awful. Time to get a press.

              They're homos that think it's steel-cased.

any ranges i talked to said they dont care about steel case only steel core. apparently the new tula is lead core, but there's still tons of the old stuff floating around.

they told me "if a magnet sticks to the bullet, you cant shoot it."

There are ranges that don't allow steel cased ammo. Bullet Trap in Plano is one of them. They claim it's because they often have bi-metal bullets that tear up the backstop over time. I think it's because they want to gather and sell all the brass.

Ok cool. Ive always seen it as LC. Good to know. And I personally don't care if the ammo is steel/aluminum/brass cased or if its cowboy lead bullets. Oh well..

Yeah. Back in the day, there was .45 Colt, and .45 Schofield. The Schofield was shorter, and both would chamber in the Colt, like .357mag and .38spl. The Army logistics guys started calling the Colt cartridge, "Long Colt," to differentiate the rounds for the grunts, as there had been previous short and long Colt cartridges (like .38 short & long Colt), and the name stuck.
