  • I ran into this very interesting little optic.

Out of pure chance I ran into this optic on the web. I know one of the links only has 1 review but on the web there are a bunch of really positive reviews and on youtube as well. I am thinking of picking one up, at this price point it looks to be great.

I wasn't even looking for optics when I found that but I am always looking for a great deal. Have you seen the one you mentioned and the one I posted compared?

ya, just google lucid vs. vortex sparc. mixed opinions. i think why i came to the conclusion of swaying towards the spac, was the lifetime warranty from vortex, and a very detailed torture test i found online. ill see if i can find it.

I just did and from what I read side by side the HD7 runs away with it.

Just an update, I bought one of these and received it in the mail today. I have not shot with it yet but my initial impression of this unit is very high. The quality seems to be much higher than what you pay for it. The controls are all crisp and work as stated. It mounted to the top of one of my ar's just fine and the glass seems to be very nice as well. With all the other reviews that are out there on this unit as far as holding a zero I expect no issues. I will update if I do come across anything though.

Took it out on this beautiful day today and sighted the optic in. I ran about 300 rounds through it and it ran great. No complaints here. I am going to order another for my 300 blk sbr.

I was short on time yesterday and just put that little bit up. To make everything clear this was mounted on my .223 ar, sbr. It sighted in with ease and held it's zero for the whole 300 rounds. Switching between the reticles had no poi change. The auto brightness setting worked great and I never messed with it as far as manually adjusting the brightness settings. On a side note I was also testing out the X products 50rnd drum mag. It ran really well and caused zero issues. The only thing I dont like about it is that it will not let the bolt hang back when it's dry.

I am not an advocate for these things despite how it may sound. It's just for the first time in a while I feel that I got a little bit more than what I paid for in a product. It's no acog for sure but it really in my mind fills a gap between the super cheapo crap optics and something like an acog for a very reasonable price. Take all this as you will though as I do only have 300 rounds of experience with it.

i am not a fan of my vortex sparc
occasionally it seems like the dot disappears, seems related to the battery spring
over all it seems like overpriced garbage.
Personally i will not be buying anything vortex again.
for 180 msrp you should expect better.

I had a Votex Sparc for under 6 hours. It was a piece of shit and turned me off from all of their optics.

That's a shame, I'm very happy with my Viper PST.
