Went down to my gf's parents place this weekend to try out a skeet thrower he just bought. He told me the local Walmart had a Champion Wheelybird for $199, so he picked one up. There was some assembly required right out of the box, but it was easy to put together, and went together quickly. The thrower will run off of any 12v battery, we so picked up a deep cycle marine battery for good measure. The thrower uses a release pedal attached by a 25' cord which works rather well and is fairly sensitive. We had a few problems with the pedal getting stuck and it required us to pick up the pedal to get it unstuck. During this time, it was throwing clays non stop with about 2-3 seconds between each throw. We put 200 clays through it and it broke 10 of them, so it threw pretty consistently. The only other issue we had was with the thrower releasing clays by itself while we were moving it around, so it seemed pretty sensitive to movement. You have to make sure and turn the power off to make sure you don't get rocked by the throwing arm. The only downside is that their wobble kit you can purchase only adjusts the pitch at which it throws, where other wobble kits for other companies adjust pitch and rotation. You can also get a kit for it that adjust just rotation which would only come in handy if were shooting by yourself and wanted that different shots without moving the thrower.
