For my whole life I have shot right handed, left eye closed. I started realizing I was having a problem when I absolutely could not shoot with both eyes open. I couldn't focus on the front sight or the target. Even if I was attempting to focus on one I would see two of the target and the front sight. I couldn't figure out my problem. Well I have figured it out. I'm left eye dominant.
I have been practiced for about 15 minutes today dry firing to try to get used to it how I point the weapon now. I was compensating so much for using my right eye that now when I point the weapon I am off to the side. I am just getting frustrated having to re learn where to hold the gun in relation to my body. It's gonna be a long time consuming process but I'll be able to do it.
I guess I'm asking if anyone here is cross eye dominant and just looking for some help getting used to it.
(To remedy this for both eyes open I have chosen the option to shift the gun to the left so it is in front of my dominant eye rather than twisting my head or learning to shoot left handed)
