  • Where to buy???? reloaders come inside!

Where can I buy reloading supplies like powder and primers locally so I don't have to pay the hazmat shipping charges when ordering online?

I've decided to compile a comprehensive list of various reloading resources that I've come to use regularly. Reloading is a big wealth of knowledge, and unfortunately it seems quite a bit of time is required to get on your feet. My goal is to make it a little easier on everyone. Bass pro has dies and stuff. Academy had some decently priced primers last time I was there. Your best bet is to wait for the next gun show or try texashunting forum.

Cabelas - tend to be high
BassPro - tend to be high
        Southwest Ammunition Supply in Mesquite
Docs Gunshop in Carrollton (i think)
        Elk Castle in Ft. Worth

Check Texas Hunting Forum or buy online in bulk, that's where you'll save the most money. You just have to check the sites daily.

If you're starting out reloading on a small scale then the places above will have what you need. You will save money reloading over buying ammo from retail stores but you won't save as much if you were buying your supplies in bulk.

I probably wont reload much just want to play around with different loads and a chronograph. More of something to have fun with than to try and save money.

I got a cheap rcbs rockchucker

A few years ago I bought primers from alpine and it was pretty reasonable. You should order online though, just order in large enough quantities to overcome the hazmat charge.

Natchez is having a sale on most powders and you can order up to 50 lbs or what will fit in 1 box for a single hazmat fee to make it worth it.
My problem with trying to order enough shit from one place to make it worth it is they are usually out of stock on half the stuff I want.
Surprisingly the little gun shop in Huntington near my in-laws almost always has a good selection of powder and primers in stock so that's my go to these days.
