  • Misplaced my EDC knife

For the last 2.5 years I have been carrying a SOG Twitch II, and loved it every time I used it. That is, every day until about a week ago, when I couldn't find it. I tore the house and office apart looking for it, but it's nowhere to be found. I'm on the hunt for a knew knife. I liked the solid feel, plain non-serrated blade, slim profile, understated design, and assisted-open of the Twitch, but I hated the fact that the lock release was on the back of it, as opposed to a liner-lock mechanism. Anyone have suggestions? I'm looking to spend $100 or less.

*Disclaimer* I know this has been asked a few times before, and I read through all the threads and got some idea of what everyone is carrying, but I wanted to know if anyone had found anything new besides the Kershaw, Benchmade, CRKT, etc. etc. that has been recommended a million times.

I think Spyderco knives are ugly.

          Same.

What kind of budget do you have? I've got a couple kershaws, some fix blade lonewolfs, one spyderco.

The benchmade/lonewolfs are my favorites, but their folders suck for the money imho. I like my kershaws with aluminum scales. They feel more solid for the same price point. The higher end benchmades are tits.

My next blade will be custom.

I carry the small sog twitch and like you I love it. It is my favorite knife. I missplaced it two days ago and and felt like I left home without a pair of pants. Just go buy another one since you know you like it. I prefer the lock to be on the back and hate linear releases, but even if the twitch did not have that option it is still a hell of a knife.

The green 740 is so damn nice I don't even use. The SOG is a Nice lightweight EDC knife. But' the bone collector is my everyday workhorse. Eventually I'm going to get a spidedco.

SOG mini aegis. Blade steel aus-8

Benchmade bone collector. Blade steel D2

Benchmade Osborne 740. Blade steel s30v

Twitch II is my EDC, and I'm on my second one after misplacing mine on the bottom of eagle mountain lake... love 'em for the same reasons.

                        Cold Steel...
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

                          Attempted thread hi-jack:
While we're talking about EDC knives, I have an issue with mine. Rust. It's 8CR13MoV steel. Cheap, but reliable little knife. It only has a few little surface rust spots on it. My assumption is that it happened when I may or may not have drunkenly used it to cut into an orange.

Whats the best way to get rust off the blade without ruining it?

I've had success with WD-40, and #9 solvent.

Oh I like this knife too.

Bro... I can't in good conscience let you spend money with them. Don't do it. Lynn Thompson is a hustler. He just rips off other knife makers and overcharges for his shitty copies. Try out a Benchmade.
