Academy had a pretty good sale on Windham ARs a few weeks ago. $630 got my dad a new .223/5.56 Windham AR15, three Pmags, and a red dot sight. I almost bought one as well, but decided not to for some dumb reason.

How do you like the Bushy? Due to all of the Bushmaster employees transferring to Windham, I've heard that they're nowhere near the quality they used to be. I haven't shot a new Bushmaster, so I have no idea. so far, my father's Windham has not experienced one jam or had any issues come up.

seems like a very solid rifle. Good weight, perfect feel. I'll go shoot it sometime soon and report back.

Brake cleaner (I prefer CRC) works great for an AR gas tube.

Took 1200 or so suppressed on a bushmaster. My family does a thankgiving shoot every year. The kids got the ar and went to town. I saw a kid trying to get it to work. Walked over and split the gun open, and laughed my ass off.

Poor gun should have melted the way they treated it. They didnt touch any of my guns.

going to build a suppressed SBR myself next. good hobby
Way easier. Fewer roll pins. Know that you can buy all the specialized tools or go old school and save big bucks to put toward stamps and optics. Yes I have assembled several and the first one I used the upper vise and a torque wrench. After lets just say they all run like champs and my blackout has 2 deer and a hog to prove it. Hopefully my 556 will have some coyotes soon.
