  • New FNC being produced stateside: sear ready

"Fleming Firearms has received ATF approval on the new Fleming Nato Carbine (FNC) http://www.flemingfirearms.com/

This is a new rifle that the FNC sear can be legally installed. I'm not sure on what cal conversion are available but this could open a new market for the FNC sear."

This resolves the issues of spare parts and lack of platforms. If you have a few grand sitting around, buying a sear would be a great idea at this time!

Sounds kind of hypocritical of the ATF since given their known history of shutting down non legacy guns built and sear useage. This looks nothing like an FNC.

      Sure does, but fuck it.

I have had a spare sear sitting in the safe for ages, and now I know what it is going into!

Why not just buy another FNC? It says those things are $3300. I haven't looked at FNC prices, but if the above listed scenario pans out at least one would have a gun they could use a sear in and not another AR15 looking gun that could potentially be nothing more than just another AR15 gun.

I have two unfired ones in the safe. Might as well get a different platform.

I guess that question was more or less directed at those aren't as fortunate and don't have $3300 to blow on another "platform".

There are plenty of good reasons for going with the AR platform over the FNC. Parts avaliability, familiarity, accessories, accuracy, etc.

Sure FNCs are fun to shoot, but for American shooters the AR makes the most sense to own. I see this new platform as a great alternative to an expensive m16. You can even see where Bill/Wade have expanded the lower receiver above the mag release button to place the auto sear.

With this gun at $2950 and sears at $3000, this gives people $6000 m16 like machine guns, which is neat I think.

I completely agree. I'm just questioning the ATF allowing the useage of a sear. If they don't let them in SCARs, I don't see this. Which should be considered before someone is stuck with a $3k AR15.

The ATF is the ATF. If Bill says they have approved his design for use with a sear I am inclined to believe it.

Plenty of approved designs have all the sudden become post samples or unapproved. Bill also did some time in the pen, but maybe it allows him to walk that fine line because he's been there.

Man when it comes to anything at all NFA related, you are quite the pessimist.

I prefer to look at the bigger picture and past incidences before I chunk $6k+ at something. That gun could be no better off than $700 AR that will use only a one off upper for the rest of it's life. But that could be said for all firearms these days.

I thought you have an FNC sear? I tried to buy it off you one time.
