Eric, I have quite a few stripper clips that I'll give you next time I see you. No idea how many, but I'd say at least 20.

I'd like a coupe, erics already hoarding them.

You could not choose a worse starter pistol.

                        Glock, M&P, USP compact, P2000

More or less in that order.

In what respect is a 1911 a bad started pistol? Expensive?

Pistol is expensive, .45 is expensive, many of them are fidgety when it comes to reliability, ect.

A good starter pistol should be cheap, reliable, cheap mags, cheap ammo in my opinion.

I love glock and sig, but honestly, you should try a handful of pistols and see what you're most comfortable with. I like the look of 1911's but I find them very uncomfortable, glock and sig seem to be made for my hand though

Pretty much what Patrick said. A good 1911 isnt cheap, and a cheap 1911 isnt good. Plastic pistol number #2483 can be had new for $500 and for that money the 1911s you get have sloppy lockup, ride the link, and have a barrel that flops around in the bushing. They are also overly complicated, shoot expensive ammo (assuming .45acp), and and are finnickey as all get out.
