hehehe, I've been guilty of this before. But when it comes to shotguns, they all work. You'll find more stuff for an 870 as far as aftermarket, but a mossberg 500 is a good shotgun as well. Alex has shot mine many times hunting and I've never seen any issue with it. And, actually, my 870 wingmaster has jammed on me a couple of times (one time during shooting at a pig). And that one is regarded as one of the best 870's there is.

Recoil Outfitters has one on Gunbroker for $250 Buy Now price. Not sure where you are located but he is in Parker and is a good guy to deal with. I've called him before and negotiated to buy guns face to face for substantially less than the Gunbroker price.
