If I recall, you bought a Citadel compact 1911 that was already broken. It's not a matter of being qualified, it's a lack of experience with firearms, especially compared to others on the board. Chris simply wanted to hear from people with more experience than you and Ben.
My first 1911 was a Rock Island Compact GI and it ran great while I had it. I got rid of it because it only liked ball ammo and I couldn't get it to run well with hollow point ammo. One has to remember that they're a very inexpensive firearm and you get what you pay for.
I didn't say all, I said most. I still don't know why the amount I shoot was even brought into this.

I had a New Agent .45 and it ran through hundreds of rounds without any hiccups. Both round nose and hollow points from 185-230 grain, some factory and a lot of handloads too. I just couldn't get used to the (lack of) sights.
