Last I bought one through this you had to show a work ID. For me it was my police ID and you had to have a letterhead from your work signed by your supervisor.

They just wanted my ID card last time I bought a Sig. I think to get departmental pricing which is a tad lower you might need the Chief thing.

I bought both of mine from GT's in Austin, and all I had to show was a work I.D.. Of course, this was years ago before they were open to the public, you had to show an I.d. just to get in the door.

Champion Firearms in College Station used to have a bunch of these for sale. They basically get them from Glock who labels them for LEO sales only and US Customs doesn't charge the importer an import tax.

Good deal. Seen it on pretty much every full size (17 size) and mid size (23) on the shelf. Never saw it on anything special like the G34/35 or the sub compacts though. Mostly on what might be used as Duty Weapons.

That is incorrect, as far as I know. I was quoted the same price for all 3 model 9mms, but as I said, this was years ago.
