      It was like that when I lived in colorado. I went to the sheriff's department with $152.50, and my military ID. I planned to get the Colorado license, and since Texas recognized Colorado's, just use it here. I later was told that only worked if you were traveling through, and since I'd be a Texas resident again, I'd need a Texas License. I needed to check that, because I believe that information maybe wrong, but I moved before I had a chance.

      I'm going to look into this.

          Yeah, even with my non-professional handgun shooting skills it was uber easy.

              The girl next to me was using a full size glock with a laser. I sort of muttered "can you use a laser". Her dipshit husband commented back "she's a girl" as in leave her be she get special treatment. That was just before his bigger of a dipshit uncle put his dickskinners on my damn pistol to check it out without even saying a word to me. "oh that's okay he is Dallas SWAT and a sniper instructor" a whole family of dipshits then.

                The discount is for the fees you pay the state. Not for the class. I just turned in my paperwork for my renewal. DD214
