So I am going to push forward with purchasing a suppressor. I just want to get the ball rolling and forget about it for the next year. This is my plan so far please correct any bad info that you see. I want to take my 16" barreled ar15 that is chambered in .223 and remove the barrel and replace it with one that is also 16" long but is chambered in 300 blk. From what I have gathered everything else including the mags will support this and no other change will be needed. I then want to add a suppressor to this setup. What I need is a solid recommendation on a suppressor for this setup I want something good but don't know much about them or the various manufacturers of them to know what is good and what isn't.

(Reason - if he has to order it, the manufacturer can take up to a moth to build it, then the ATF can take 6 weeks to approve a Form 3 to ship it to the dealer. Add another week for shipping. You could be waiting for 3 months before you even start on a form 4)
2. Buy a 30 cal can THAT YOU CAN TAKE APART. You will be able to shoot 30 cal and down out of it. If you shoot 22 Lr out of it, you will want to take it apart to clean it.

SWR Octane HD 2.
I'm going to receive mine hopefully in a month or two. It is a 9mm suppressor (for my G17/9mm SBR) but it can shoot subsonic .300 BLK. It can be taken apart for cleaning (so technically you could shoot .22 through it). Not bad for a 3 caliber suppressor. I think total (including $200 ATF fee) was ~$750

I have heard the SAS Arbiter is a solid can.Originally posted by IHaveAMustang View PostSWR Octane HD 2.

1) why not build another upper in 300 blk vs change barrel? You could build an upper minus bolt/carrier and just swap the bolt and carrier between uppers.
2) there are a lot of good choices in cans out there 30cal you can do AK, 308 or magnum only difference is the amount of pressure the can will take. You could also do a 9mm can and get more use out of it (if you want to suppress a pistol or 9mm carbine that is.

I am trying to keep my calibers to a minimum. It may be a stretch but I am pretty sure the only caliber pistol I will ever own is .45 it's not that I am closed minded about others at all I just have other reasons that are a little tin foil hatish. I really wasn't trying to add another caliber to the list that I own but suppressing .233 is kinda silly from what I have read. I have done a little research and it seems to me that 300 blk is a very effective round to suppress. I doubt the suppressor will ever get any play on other calibers. So with that being said what would be the best option keeping in mind that I do not need any other versatility.

Definitely build another upper. It's easy enough to run both through the same can. You'll want an adjustable gas block for both, though, and you still might have to modify your buffer or your sample port to get it to run right.
BTW: Chuck Ross is the shit.ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh
