Certainly there was some appeal to owning a Colt. But I didn't feel like taking the time to build one or making it "tactical cool" the way I wanted and Colt had a model that had everything I wanted short of a red dot scope. Bachman has what I want with the Colt for a little under $1100 so I may go with that.

You don't have to build one to get one cheap. I'm positive there are plenty of mfg with the same options as the Colt in the $700 range.

Bachman Pawn and Gun (soon to be just Bachman Gun) has them for $1099 which is on par with some of the lower prices I've seen on the internet for this model. I need to call a few Walmarts out in the country and price them out as well.

Shoot...... For almost 700 you could get damn close from PSA. $499 + shipping complete sans stripped lower. Find one of the MANY available lowers around, including $69 blemished PSA lower + FFL/shipping and you are good to go!

I'd only get a 1:7 s you can stabilize the 70+ grain bullets. Like 75g TAP and 77g SMK

That's just me though, I guess most can get by w/ 1:9. My 223 SPS tactical has 1:9 and I hate that about it.
