  • Picked up a new Kimber Ultra Carry

Buddy of mine was selling his and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Hadn't even had a full box of ammo run though it. This will make my fourth Kimber and my third Ultra Carry. Love me some 1911's.

You know someone is gonna come in and say "have you seen the slide fit gaps in the rear?"

Congrats on the new (to you) gun. How does it shoot?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I had nothing but issues with my stainless uc2. Sold it and picked up a pro cdpII, and it has never hiccuped.

Buddy of mine had one, would run factory ammo with no problem. It didn't like his reloads no matter what he did so he sold it and picked up something that would run reloads.

I'd have to dig through and find the picture thread with the Kimber issues. Here is one I took yesterday afternoon. Looks OK to me. I'll probably hit up the range in a week or so and shoot a minimum of a couple of hundred rounds before I even think about carrying it. I still enjoy carrying my Ruger LCR to much at this point anyway

Wow! What type of issues? My last UC2 I'm having issues with FTE's but I'm thinking it's a maintenance issue. I really want to learn how to do a complete field strip on these guns and that one may be my guinea pig.

What? A 1911 or this particular model?

Mine was a ftf issue with the slide release. Even ball ammo would get caught on it. It had some other quality issues for expesive as a gun as it was so I unloaded it.

The pro cdpII ate anything and everything from day one. Best handgun I've ever owned.

Removing the ejector is definitely not a field stripping procedure.

Maybe I'm not understanding. You were having a failure to fire issue because of the slide release?

And that's what I've been reading. Might need to get some help with this.

Will do. It's looking like I won't hit up the range till the end of the month unless it's to wet for me to go camping this weekend.

                          Failure to feed jose.

It was a easy fix, aka just needed a new slide release. It had some other issues id also blame on quality control at the time. I couldnt trust the gun so i sold it.

Damn. Got me on that one. Isn't FTF also failure to fire? Don't blame you, I was just curious.
