Ok, so I rented several guns last night... A g19, sr9c, m&p shield, and one other I can't remember. I've narrowed it down to the g19 and the sr9c... Here are my thoughts:
G19: I have always sucked with glocks sighting system. I love the durability of their guns, one thing in particular I did not like about this one is the magazine seems like it wobbles around quite a bit inside the pistol. Obviously, aftermarket sites would be necessary. Like the 15 plus one capacity as well.
Sr9c: I like the way this gun shoots, there are a few things that I don't like about it starting with the loaded indicator that sticks out of the top. Also not a fan of the safety, and the rear bottom corner of the grip, the same place where clocks have a plug that goes and, the SR has a spot for a lanyard which when shooting digs into my palm pretty good. To my knowledge, they don't carry a plug of any kind to cover this up. But I do like the gun, probably about as equal as the clock. Seems like a very solid product, and you can't beat the price!
So basically, I'm still lost. Still unsure as to which one I want to go with.

I'll admit it's been maybe 3 years since I've owned a Glock but I've never noticed that. Maybe when he said they all eventually do that he's talking about a heavily used gun?? I know my Glock 27 I had owned right around 10 years and shot thousands of rounds through it (doubt it's anywhere close to what a rental gun goes through though) and I don't remember the magazine being loose.Comment

glock 19 all the way. However, my cc is a Gen 3 19C. For a fighting situation with quick follow ups, you can't beat a factory Comp'd Glock. Word of warning, you can't be a limp wrist shooter. My wife can't shoot it as it won't cycle for her but for me it ROCKS. I liked it so much I bought a 22C when I stumbled across one. Also, there are 1000's of aftermarket adds for Glocks...not much for Ruger.
Another suggestion for CC would be an XD9 Compact. Wife loves hers and is surprisingly accurate for a short barrel. Comes with short mag and extended mag, holster and mag holder.
I used to think Glocks were for fan boys but once I bought a 34 for competitive shooting I have to say reliability wise, they can't be beat. Once you get used to the grip angle and sights, they are GREAT guns.Comment
