I went to Alpine today to check my guns, 2 30/06's and a .17. all ok there but I switched over to the 50' range to check the .17 at 50'. I had just put up a target and was standing behind my shooting window watching a guy shoot a AR about 3 windows over. I noticed he was hitting the wood protector that hangs above the shooting lane. I didn't really thing anything about it, he was firing at a shot every 2 seconds and when he let up i was going to tell him. All of a sudden a guy off to our left grabbed his arm, a ricochet had hit him in the forearm and went in his arm. the wood covered guards above the shooting lanes have steel behind them and the guy hitting high caused a bullet to 180 back and hit that guy in the arm.
The guy shooting into the wood was using a 223 leaded ammo but the 50' range was marked 22 rimfire and pistol only. The guy with lead in the arm went off in a ambulance.
I guess the moral is, if you see someone so far off the target high, stop them immediately.
