  • Lesser known, under appreciated semi auto rifles?

I see a heck of a lot of varieties of other kinds besides AR-15s and AK-47 types yet I never see or hear anyone talk about them. What are some under appreciated, lesser known, semi-auto rifles you think of?

I guess it is my time to shine. As a collector, it is my goal to collect one variant of every 5.56 rifle that has ever been imported into or made in the United States. What are you looking to do with the rifle? What type of functionality are you looking for?

AR-15 is the only rifle that matters

          Ruger mini 14 (5.56/.223)
          Ruger Mini 30 (7.62/39)
          Ruger Mini 6.8 (6.8 SPC)

But these are well known rifles.

Keltec SU-16, mostly polymer but still a good candidate. also it uses STANAG/Pmags and is a piston drive system, and folds in half for storage.

SIG SAUER 556 in 7.62x39 is my favorite.uses AK mags, and has a folding stock. eats any steel cased ammo you put in it, and very accurate.

I have a Keltec su-16. Its cheap feeling but shoots great. I like how it folds up too.

I'd try to find one of those AK-15's they were talking about on the news yesterday...I'd especially try to find one of the ones that take "clips"
