Crossbows......Anyone uses one

LOL I was talking to my dad about a certain hunt and he just mention he would use a crossbow versus a compound. Not saying I'm going to use a crossbow just looking at options. In the end I'll probably end up buying a matthew compound.

I picked one up on Texashuntingforums a couple months ago and have been shooting it a bit. I don't remember the make and model. Seems to shoot pretty nice and pretty accurate out to 40yards. I likely wouldn't shoot anything with it out that far anyway, as it's pretty loud and I would think that a critter would duck the arrow.

To me it's no different from a firearm or compound bow, put the dot on the target and fire.

nothing wrong with mathews. Just dont like the looks of their new bows. I had a mathewss dxt brand new in 09.

Best thing you can do is go shoot a few different brands and see what you like best. They are all about the same speed and quality. It boils down to how does it feel in your hand and when you shoot it.

I wanted to look into one a while back but apparently the laws for shooting them inside city limits and penalties are the same as a gun..
